A Puerto Rican confession to my ancestors I must say to you all. Is it because your black? Yes it is, for your color has brought 1/3 of my rich hertiage I hold dear to my heart and soul. Your blackness I wear like clothing on my body that gives me comfort and assurance I am of part of something special. For your blackness has a calling card on it that I must answer to my part in order to repay this great gift that is in me and all Puerto ricans who must answer that call

I respect being able to reflect on your cultural heritage and be proud of it, in spite of what mainstream American culture believes about it. Indeed, we can all take this as an example to take that type of pride in ourselves.

I thank the DVD series Hidden colors for waking me up. I'm proud being proud Puerto Rican but love my Taino and African side. I'm proud Africans made alot of Puerto Ricans culture. Music and shaped our the way we eat and created 2 dances.
